Student Page

This page is dedicated to my current and prospective students.  I like to quote Parker Palmer, who once wrote in The Courage to Teach (1998, p. 10), "Good teaching cannot be reduced to technique; good teaching comes from the identity and integrity of the teacher."  I teach because I care about students and helping you prepare for what lies ahead.  Parker also wrote, "Students who learn are the finest fruit of teachers who teach" (1998, p. 6).  So, as a teacher, I will rely on my personality, experience, knowledge and integrity to create the conditions we need for a learning environment; however, I will rely on you to come to class ready and eager to learn.  If you would like to learn more about my approach to teaching, click on my Teaching Philosophy page.
