FOR PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS ENGAGING IN FIELDWORK/SERVICE

1)
Students will respect
the privacy of clients by never divulging information concerning them with
anyone other than appropriate staff from the organization where the clients are
being served. This also pertains to
entries made in student daily logs.
2)
Students will not
become involved in inappropriate or social relationships (e.g., dating) with
clients from the organization where they are interning.
3)
Students will not
engage in any type of sexual activity with clients from the organization where
they are interning.
4)
Students shall
honestly and accurately report their fieldwork/externship hours to their site
supervisors and faculty advisor.
5)
If the student
believes a client is likely to harm him/herself or others, the student will
report this condition to appropriate staff immediately.
6)
Students will
avoid bringing their personal issues and problems into their work with clients.
7)
Students will not
impose their personal values on the clients they serve. Nor shall they allow their personal biases
with regard to age, disability, ethnicity, gender, race, religion or sexual
preference to intrude on their work with clients.
8)
Students will
never engage in any form of physical or verbal abuse of clients.
9) Students
cannot begin a fieldwork without review and approval of this form by the
Fieldwork Coordinator.
