Robert J. Sullivan

Associate Professor

Doctor Robert Sullivan is a native of Bridgeport , Connecticut and currently resides in Hyde Park, New York. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Technology. He teaches courses in the the Biology Department as well. His courses include Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy, General Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Human Biology and Topics in Biology.

Prior to coming to Marist College, he was an associate professor and coordinator of the Medical Technology program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Before that, he held a position as a supervisory medical technologist in the Section of Comparative Medicine at the Yale University, School of Medicine. He earned his bachelors degree from Fairfield University , a masters degree from TempleUniversity in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Sullivan is certified as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists(ASCP). He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), both state and national chapters and the American Association for Clinical Chemistry(AACC).

His research interests include the areas of laboratory medicine, both national and international aspects, and critical issues related to patient care, laboratory safety in educational settings and laboratory safety in herbal medicine.
